The Client’s brief for this house (built in the 1860’s which was also in a conservation area) was to reconfigure the first floor to allow dedicated access to 4 bedrooms, create a dressing room and en-suite for the master bedroom, create an en-suite shower room for a second bedroom and to relocate the family bathroom. At ground floor, the Client wanted to demolish an awkward rear extension which accommodated a bathroom and utility room and relocate these two uses into unused storage space alongside the kitchen. They also wanted to create a small family area to the rear of the property, remodel the internal layout to allow easier circulation and create space for hall storage. The front garden and driveway was also to be reconfigured, to allow a softer landscape and to improve the off street parking.
