The brief was to open up the living room to the garden – widening narrow openings between the living room and rooms on either side. The Client was very keen to remove the flat ceiling, creating a vaulted ceiling, in the living room and new garden room, and adding roof lights into the living room. The original garden doors were also replaced with much wider bifold doors. A telescopic pocket door was inserted into the wall between living and dining rooms, which slips discreetly into the wall when open.
The resulting space is lovely and bright and open to the garden, all awkwardness removed.
