This Clients father had built the house and over the years it had been extended creating some awkwardness in the layout. The house was in the Green Belt so any significant extension would be tricky, and with the floor area available, entirely unnecessary. The brief was to demolish the existing two rear extensions and rebuild them so that the space could be properly incorporated into the house. The entrance hall needed to be widened, the kitchen needed to be enlarged, there needed to be space for the dogs in a separate room and there needed to be a large utility room. In order to achieve this, some of the not fully used internal spaces (a library and a bar) were lost.
