Do you have a Passivhaus, EnerPHit, AECB new build or AECB retrofit project – or something similar? Whether you’re just looking for an initial steer, or whether you’d like to achieve certification – through the use of the Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP) and natural building materials, we can offer guidance and advice to support your design team.
The PHPP is a planning tool that considers a wide range of characteristics to provide confidence that the performance targets can be achieved. It is an integral part of the process and is a requirement for all of these standards.
It’s best if we’re appointed during the early design stages, as this enables us to make useful PHPP evaluations and design inputs and can help avoid additional costs. We can, however, fit into a project at any stage. The fee guide below is in the instance that we’re fully embedded in your consulting team. We can of course provide a smaller nugget of consultancy, for which you might like to read more here.
Following an initial conversation or meeting and once we’re appointed, the following information would be useful to get us started. Of course, how much of this information you have depends at what stage of your project you are at:
* Your design brief
* Site address and photographs
* Existing and proposed plans, elevations, sections
* Details
* Building envelope assemblies – floors, walls, roofs, windows, doors
To give you an indication of our fees and the process, the following Steps are based on a typical 2 storey, 3 bedroom new build house, of simple form. This example is for us to carry out the PHPP modelling and support your team to work towards achieving certification for your chosen standard. It’s most likely that we would need to work with your team through all 5 Steps, but this does depend on your specific circumstances.
If you have a low energy project that you might like assistance with, please do get in touch for an initial conversation.
